Chestnut Mushroom & Caramelized Onion Tart

A rich and savory tart, perfect for a light meal or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

  • 1 cup Chestnut Mushrooms, sliced

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • ½ tsp thyme

  • ½ cup shredded gruyere or parmesan cheese

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Heat oil and butter in a pan, sauté onions until caramelized (about 15 minutes).

  3. Add mushrooms and thyme, cooking for another 5 minutes.

  4. Roll out puff pastry on a baking sheet and prick with a fork.

  5. Spread the mushroom mixture over the pastry, leaving a ó-inch border.

  6. Sprinkle cheese over the top and brush edges with egg wash.

  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
